Erin, Dumped for the First Time

Poor Erin. She's 15, and her first love has left the mountain and gone back to from whence he came leaving her crying possibly for the first time -- but not the last -- over a boy.

The Pony Cart

"What I wouldn't give to get a whiff of that tobacco now." -- Martha Corrine Walton.

And then she dies. Well, a few days later.

"I Will Turn Methodist"

The title of this entry is one of my favorite lines from "The Waltons."

Grandma is explaining to Reverend Fordwick that she will not share playing the church organ with another woman:

"I cannot share with that woman. I will not resign my organ playing to just anyone. And if you toddy to that Zelma Maynard, then I will resign from this church, Reverend Fordwick."

She walks away, and then turns to the preacher and says:

Note: Grandma Walton was in the next episode.
Then Ellen Corby suffered a stroke and was in
limited appearances in future episodes.

Erin the Dweeb

Erin: "I'm a failure at everything."
Daddy: "If you were one of your brothers I'd know what to do about you. I guess you just don't grab one of your daughters by the neck and yank her out of bed."

One of my favorite episodes. Probably because Erin is a dweeb. I saw this episode today.
