Cheapskate

The beginning of the month we received new coupons from Arby's. About a week ago I thought I would use a coupon for us and purchase 4 roast beef sandwiches.

For some reason the coupon seemed more pricy than I remembered. Last month's sheet of coupons still existed. Yes, there was a price increase.

I clipped both coupons and took them with me. Even though it was October, I presented the September coupon. It was accepted without question. Yay! I thought.

Then the order-taker said, "I can give you the senior discount, too." I thanked her. To tell the truth, the last I knew Arby's senior discount was a discounted drink which I'd never bothered with. The senior discount was 20%. That equals $2 off the coupon price $10. After everything was calculated, our four sandwiches cost $8, $2 each. Yee-haw! We each had one for lunch and one for supper.

In the past, Arby's usually handed the coupons back and told us to reuse them the next time we ordered. So apparently coupons aren't that big of deal to them.

But they are to me!

Later I looked at the two coupon sheets -- one from September, one from October. The only coupon that had changed prices was the one for the four sandwiches. Corned Beef Reuben sandwich was still $6. 2 Classic Beef 'n Cheddar sandwiches was still $7. 3 Sliders for $5 was still the same. And so on.
